Summary

SD’s Tea is a blend of fruit, spices and herbal ingredients. It’s formulated to aid weight loss by stimulating regular bowel movements. Based on an ingredient used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, this unique tea blend relies on the stimulating effects of Senna leaf. Senna belongs to a large genus of flowering plants found throughout the tropics.

Cassia angustifolia (Indian or Tinnevelly senna) in leaf and extract form are used to deliver a consistent and reliable laxative effect. The active components in senna extracts are anthraquinone derivatives and their glucosides, referred to as senna glycosides or sennosides. They are believed to gently irritate the wall of the colon to promote peristalsis and evacuation. Senna may also enhance intestinal fluid accumulation and increase the moisture content of stool by inhibiting electrolyte and water reabsorption from the colon.

The typical dose is 15 to 30 mg of sennosides twice a day, but is recommended for short term use only (less than one week). Side effects may include abdominal cramps and electrolyte imbalance.

Roasted dandelion root, Chamomile flower, Sweet orange peel, Licorice root, Spearmint leaf, Cassia cinnamon bark, Marshmallow root, Natural lime flavour, Papaya leaf, Stevia leaf, Natural lemon flavour.

Recommended dose:

Take 1 tea bag once daily. Preferably after dinner, pour 1-2 cups of boiling water over 1 tea bag into a container and cover. Steep for 2 minutes. Produces action in 6-12 hours.

Do not use any type of laxative for more than one (1) week, unless your
physician has ordered a special schedule for you. Extended or overuse may cause dependence for bowel function. A laxative should not be taken within two hours of another medication because the desired effect of the other medicine may be reduced. Do not use this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have a kidney disorder, faecal impaction or symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or fever or if you are taking cardiac medications. Do not use this product if you have abnormal constrictions of the gastrointestinal tract, potential or existing intestinal blockage, atonic bowel, appendicitis, inflammatory colon disease such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, abdominal pain of unknown origin, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, severe dehydration with depleted water or electrolytes or diarrhoea. Stop use if hypersensitivity/allergy occurs. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are taking cardiac medications such as cardiac glycosides or antiarrhythmic medications, thiazide diuretics, corticosteroids, licorice root or other medications
